Jerk chicken burgers

Ingredients:

For burgers:

For the jerk seasoning :

  • 1 tbsp. allspice 
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. Jamaican pepper
  • 1 tsp. bay leaf, crumbled very finely
  • 1 tsp. finely chopped fresh thyme
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • Freshly ground salt and pepper

For trimmings :

  • Mayonnaise, homemade or store-bought
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Red onion, thinly sliced
  • Tomato slices

How to proceed:

  1. Preheat BBQ to medium heat. Oil the grill.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the spices. Set aside.
  3. For a "TNT" version, add the full jerk seasoning mix to the chicken and mix well.
  4. For a ‘SWEET’ version, add only half of the jerk mixture to the chicken.
  5. Shape the meatballs and place on the BBQ grill.
  6. Cook 4 to 5 minutes on each side or until done.
  7. Toast buns and garnish!
